Safety First
The most common type of back injury is from back strain. It is caused by improper twiating, bending, or lifting. As you have probably heard many times, there is a proper way to lift. Keep your back straight, bending at your knees, straddle the object, and lift slowly by straightening your legs. If there is any doubt that the object is not safetly within your lifting capacity, do not attempt to lift it.
